Today, April 25, 2012, marks the third year as husband and wife for Justin and me!
Aside from being husband and wife, as many of you know we're also wedding and special event planners. As cheezy as it sounds, I always tear up at weddings. Bottom line, we both sincerely love what we do each and every day and we're incredibly lucky to have found our passion at the time that we did.
For those of you that have been on our journey with us since we officially opened doors for NLE over 2 years ago, we thank you and are gracious to have you as readers, contributors, friends and colleagues.
Today, I'm sharing a very special poem Justin's aunt Mari read at our ceremony that we both cherrish and hold deeply:
Sonnet XVII
Pablo Neruda
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
----------------------------------------------------
